Gretchen Potts
Gretchen Potts is a Los Angeles based multi-media artist focusing on interactive installations and performance art. Her work revolves around the themes of memory and personal experiences. Educated at California State Fullerton and Northridge, she had the pleasure of working with artists like Naoh Purifoy, Kim Abeles, and Jim Jinkins. She relished in the knowledge of each artist and heeded their advice to stay true to her vision and skills.
Wallpaper for the Mind is an interactive installation that consists of over 4000 shipping tags structured to mimic the swirling forms of the brain, many inscribed with memories participants shared with Gretchen over a span of 5 years. Viewers are invited to walk through the work and experience of environment while reading the shared memories. They are also welcome to leave a memory of their own for the artist to add to the installation.
