Karen Holden
Karen Holden is a poet, artist and educator.

Published widely, her work crosses disciplines. This Music is comprised of poems written in response to classical, jazz and alternative music. Book of Changes is a volume of 64 poems based on the ancient Chinese text I Ching. And the limited edition artists’ book How Love Comes Home: Los Angeles in Four Voices weaves family story into the history of Los Angeles using poetry, essays and images.
She was commissioned by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art to write a series of poems to artworks in their permanent collection. The poems are included in the museum’s mobile tour. Most recently she was privileged to speak at TEDxCSULB where she recalled her life’s journey using poetry and drawings in “The Poem That Is My Life.”
Karen teaches creative and persuasive communication and social media at schools, museums and conferences, was on the faculty of the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture, and was Poet-in-Residence at the Long Beach Museum of Art, among other life adventures.
